"In the evening’s main event, Texas flyweight champion Casey Ramos (10-0, 4 KOs,) of Austin kept his record unblemished in an eight round slugfest with the tough-as-nails Joe Morales (19-13, 4 KOs) out of San Antonio.  The action was fast and intense from the opening bell as Ramos came firing a wide array of punches from all angles.  Morales weathered the early onslaught and was able to counter Ramos’ charges with some well timed hooks.  The high-intensity action was sustained throughout the second and third rounds as Ramos stalked Morales winging hard punches at the shaved head of his adversary.  Ever the savvy veteran, Morales withstood the barrage of shots, landing some hard right hands in the process.  Morales picked up his pace in the third and fourth rounds as Ramos appeared to take his foot of the gas for a moment.  Ramos continued his blistering pace in the fifth round and again in the sixth.  Though it appeared that Ramos was in firm control of the action, he was docked a point in the sixth round due to his mouthpiece falling out on three separate occasions.  Motivated by the point deduction, Ramos came out strong in the seventh round, but Morales held his ground and never gave in inch to his younger adversary.  Scores were 78-73, 78-73, and 77-74 all in favor of Ramos.

In what may have been the fight of the night, Fort Worth’s Arthur Trevino (5-3-2, 2 KOs) scored a four round majority decision over Albert Romero (0-1-1) of Austin.  Romero enjoyed success in the early rounds as he utilized his southpaw stance to land straight left, after straight left hand to the head of Trevino.  An accidental clash of heads opened up a cut above the left of Romero at the end of the first round.  In the second round Trevino came out aggressive, working the body of Romero and landing a number of right hands as well.  The action continued well into the third round until another clash of heads opened up a deep gash above the right eye of Trevino.  Romero seemed to step his attack up at the sight of Trevino’s cut but the Fort Worth fighter would be unfazed and rallied back to do some punishing work of his own much to the delight of the crowd who relished this back and forth slugfest.  Trevino put an exclamation point on the night in the fourth round as he dropped Romero early in the round.  Romero beat the count and rallied back, swapping leather with the eager to engage Trevino, as the crowd roared in appreciation.  Scores were 38-37, 38-37, and 38-38 in favor of Trevino.

In yet another exciting fight, Christina Ruiz (2-0, 1 KO) of San Antonio scored a four round unanimous decision over Lisa Lamb (6-5, 2 KOs) of Fort Worth.  Ruiz came out as the aggressor as Lamb boxed from the outside.  Ruiz had success landing her hard right hand but Lamb would come right back, firing quick salvos while in close.  Ruiz dropped Lamb in the early moments of the second round with a right hand.  Never one to give up, Lamb rose to beat the count and when Ruiz went in for the kill, Lamb fired off a quick combo to the body.  Lamb went back to boxing behind her jab but Ruiz continued the pressure, never giving up an inch.  Both women elected to stand and fight in the third round, traded shots between each other in close quarters.  This spirited pace would continue on into the fourth and final round where both fighters closed out the fight by swapping leather much to the crowd’s delight.  Scores were not announced.

Jorge Suarez (2-0, 2 KOs) of San Antonio looked impressive in dropping Vincent Releford (0-1) of Fort Worth four times in route to warning a second round TKO victory.  The official time of the stoppage was 1:04 in the second round."
