Golden Gloves Wednesday Night Sportsmanship Conflict and Controversy

It was a night of action sportsmanship controversy and conflict. It was Wednesday at San Antonio Regional Golden Gloves. 

It was close it was exciting in the last two rounds it became clear Adam Castillo won his open light weight division bout.

A small late rally by Andre Penn was not enough to hold off a strong performance early on Jose Fuentes in the open Welterweight division.

Jose Hernandez came up the winner in a thrilling seesaw battle in the open welterweight division.  After the fight he talked some and posed with previous nights opponent Rudy in the tone of friendship and sportsmanship. 

No closeness no controversy just strong boxing by Alfredo Flores in his open welterweight division bout.

Omar Carrillo won his novice light welterweight bout.

Its the little things like a hurt hand that can change the tide of the fight.  That is how Steven Hall escaped an early rally by McCoy to win his open light welterweight battle.  

It as a close fight it was a tight bout but Angel Resenedez won his open welterweight bout. 

It was a knockdown that rattled the gym.  James Cantu dropped Hector Ramos.  What followed was a case study of human foibles and offiating that shows what sleep deprivation can do backing up many an exercise science study in regards to bias by an official.  There were checks and balances that worked.  Many people there feel James Cantu won and John Whisler's commentary in www.mysa.com is probably a good description I consider him my own personal bias check  I am biased to Cantu despite the fact Ramos boxing draws traffic to my site.  Sadly I may have gotten an 07 nuetered buck or two award out of what happened.

Salvador Roa of Azteca Pride boxing club won his novice middleweight bout.  Yes Raul Martinez is in the shot with him.

Dennis Gregory won his novice middleweight bout. 

Yovani Campos won his novice middleweight bout.

Jose Isales won his novice superheavyweight bout.

Randall Farley stopped his opponent by RSC in a novice super heavyweight bout.

John Valdez won his sub novice welterweight bout. 

Joseph Palencia won his sub novice light welterweight bout. 

Carlos Miranda won his sub novice welterweight bout.

David Garcia won his sub novice welterweight bout. 

Ivan Rodriguez won his sub novice middleweight bout.
