The email appears in the in box a rare airplane was going to be landing at San Antonio International Airport at given time included is the link to the flight aware track of the airplane.  In my early memories I have fading memories of the airplane sticking out in my head.  Now it is fading I know each encounter with the type fewer and far between.  The irony of life is that when a type is common you take it for granted seeing GII at Corpus Christi in 1985 is mundane seeing a 707 at the freight ramp was in the 80s was common sight now though things had changed.  The same GII would be apprecited tooday.  The 727s common in 1983 are now treasures today.  So when the email came I checked www.flightaware.com link it was over west Texas when I leave I was bound to get some photos.  I figure a 20 minute time window better early incase the tail winds over West Texas are strong.  I arrive and pull off the roadway to the position 12 was the landing runway I pull off the frontage road near the rabbits camera in hand to wait.    Why not take photographs of other airplanes.

A Cessna on final 12L over the Adult Video Megaplex.

A Boeing 737 from Southwest a classic the fatter bottoms the once spanking -500 is now considered old in its own right.

An MD-80 still climbs into the hot Texas skies as the mercury is above 90.  The heat obstructs everything now.  Another 737-500 give it 5 years and I will lust after those.

On a CRJ the scheme is old the bi color United logo is fading from history.  Another -300 series a classic 737 is ending its fllight.

The latest generation of 737 came into view I was wondering what the delay was but I was happy for the opproutunity.  I was really getting anxious now.  The powerade had been conssumed the drought grass and black bedliner were reflecting heat the airplane was a bit later the forecast but I was going to stay

One day soon the MD-80 will be gone it JT8Ds inefficent in a tight economic era its replacements the latest 737.

Once the mighty 707 ruled this airport the the came the 727 deregulation changed SAT NAFTA brought its own changes A Mexican regional carrier flying into San Antonio international airport on Brazilian built wings the world has changed a lot from the 707's hey day.

I had been given a plane tour in pre school on a US Air 727.  Now It is Canadian CRJ from an affiliate that bears the flag of the airline at the terminal that will soon be no more.

I gaze westward.
